Education
In the education market we have a specialist business dedicated to the very different needs of schools, colleges and universities.
Fit and Ness
The Fit and Ness Healthy Start in Schools package was launched in January 2002. And the concept is targeted at children aged between four and ten and provides a wide range of materials to support schools in achieving the new National Healthy Schools Standards. The Fit and Ness characters are used to bring the service to life, helping to portray it as an enjoyable experience and an integral part of school life. We aim to welcome children to the school catering department and help them to get to know the staff. We want the children to learn about food and to encourage acceptability of a wide variety of different foods. The children will learn about food groups, healthy diets as well as the importance of food hygiene.
Our role is to encourage children to eat a sensible, healthy and balanced diet through simple initiatives.

Club Joules
School children enjoy the social dimension of school meals and attach great importance to being able to sit and chat with friends. It is our responsibility to build on this popularity and focus greater attention to securing the continued support of customers and consumers i.e. the parent and the child.
Club Joules is an exciting and different food concept, specifically tailored for the primary school market. It addresses the concern of parents on healthy balance, variety and quality and keeps parents involved in what's going on. For the school, Club Joules provides a service they can be proud of, that portrays a professional and forward thinking philosophy.
Menus are featured in full and then selected weekly to maintain variety and favourite offers so as to maximise choice. Activities are a regular feature, professionally presented and an exciting part of Club Joules, something children want to be a part of. Nutritionally, the menus have been appraised by our dietitian. This ensures menus provided by Sodexo will meet and often exceed set standards. By featuring 'trend popularity', Club Joules attracts increased attention and interest, helping to fuel uptake of school meals.
In all schools where we manage meal provision, salt is NOT made available within the refectory/dining area.
